Job description
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review corporate income tax computations, tax estimates, and instalment schedules to ensure compliance and tax optimisation.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of corporate tax filings in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Analyse and verify indirect tax transactions (e.g. SST, withholding tax) to support timely and compliant indirect tax return submissions.
- Prepare tax payment schedules and documentation to ensure timely settlement of tax liabilities and avoid penalties.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to support the preparation of Transfer Pricing Documentation.
- Assist in handling tax audits, desk reviews, and investigations by IRB/RMCD, ensuring accurate and prompt responses.
- Maintain well-organised tax documentation and records for audit trail and compliance purposes.
- Monitor and support adherence to all regulatory tax requirements and updates.
- Stay up to date with current tax laws and enhance technical skills through continuous learning and development.
- Contribute to process improvements and best practices within the tax function.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in taxation, covering both direct and indirect taxes.
- Strong working knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations (corporate income tax, SST, withholding tax, etc.).
- Solid accounting and financial reporting skills.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP is an added advantage.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple tax deadlines.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Proactive in staying updated with the latest tax laws and practices.
