Job description

Responsibilities

• Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving the escalated incident to Middleware Solutions (onsite and cloud).
• Escalate the case to L3 support/application team if needed.
• Collaborate with software developers, infrastructure teams and architects to design and deploy solutions.
• Perform the regular Middleware related operations such as configuration, setup and customization of tools and systems.
• Responsible for developing and implementing custom middleware components.
• Monitor and analyse middleware performance and capacity while proposing optimization and improvements.
• Handles middleware security according to market standards.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentations.
• Liaise with external vendors for Middleware operations and maintenance.
• Intermediate level of experience in using BMC Helix ITSM (ticketing tools) or equivalent ITSM tools (example: ServiceNow, Opentext, etc).

Skill Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with middleware technologies (e.g., WebLogic, JBoss, IBM WebSphere, Apache Kafka, etc).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proficient in containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or other middleware-relevant languages.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, automation, monitoring).
• Proficient in ITSM tools: BMC Helix, ServiceNow, OpenText, etc.
• Excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
• Good understanding of middleware security standards and practices.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
• Good multitasking and time management skills.
• Strong documentation and communication abilities.
• ITIL Foundation v4 certification preferred.
• Relevant Middleware and Cloud certifications preferred.
• Willingness to work during normal hours and be on standby.
• 3-4 years of relevant working experience as Middleware Engineer with deep expertise in one or more middleware technology.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python or other languages commonly used for middleware development.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS or Azure.
• Sizeable company and ITIL experience are preferable.
• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline.
• Desired Certification: ITIL foundation v4, Any relevant Middleware certification, Any relevant Cloud certification.
• Experienced with DevOps practices, tools and culture
