Job summary
A global shipping company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to manage customs matters and optimize equipment turnaround. - Attend customs matters for empty containers, including inspections.
- Ensure submission of customs forms accurately and urgently.
- Manage idle empty containers at depots and terminals.
- Coordinate equipment pickup and delivery with lessors and truckers.
- Manage seal procurement and inventory.
- Respond to operational requests via email.

Responsibilities
- Attend all customs matters for empty containers, including inspections, scanning, and on-site meetings with customs officers.
- Ensure urgent and accurate submission of K1, K2, K3 and ZB forms.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding or "hanging" customs forms to prevent delays.
- Idle Equipment Management – Act as the dedicated contact to manage idle empty containers at depots and terminals; liaise with operational teams to optimize equipment turnaround and minimize storage costs
- On-Hire/Off-Hire/One-Way Arrangements – Coordinate with lessors and truckers for equipment pickup, delivery, and repositioning related to on-hire, one-way movements.
- Seal Management – Manage seal procurement, inventory, and distribution in coordination with suppliers and the HO team
- Operational Communication – Monitor and respond to daily emails from the logistics team mailbox to ensure timely action on operational requests.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma/Degree holder with 2 years’ experience in logistics, preferably in handling internal/external empty containers in container liner industry.
- Those without qualifications with proven record will be considered.
- Work independently with minimum supervision and able to work in a highly dynamic environment.
- Good communication skills both in written and oral English and Bahasa Malaysia.
