Job summary

A leading automotive group in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a legal professional to draft and review documents and contracts, liaise with external lawyers, and identify compliance issues, particularly under the Personal Data Protection Act. Candidates should possess an LLB (Hons) and at least 1 year of related experience. Proficiency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of working experience in a related field.

Responsibilities
  • Drafting and reviewing of documents and contracts.
  • Working closely with and maintaining good rapport with internal customers and management.
  • Liaising with external lawyers on all legal matters including but not limited to litigation, intellectual property rights, conveyancing /property, corporate, contract related matters.
  • Identifying compliance issues for e.g. Personal Data Protection Act etc.
  • Generally assisting in attending legal issues that may arise from time to time.
  • Communicate and work with external parties and internal stakeholders on flies assigned.
  • Work together as a team and support the superiors.
Qualifications
  • Candidates must have at least a LLB (Hons) from a reputable university and preferably called to the Malaysian Bar.
  • Candidate must have a minimum 1 year(s) of working experience in related field. (exposure to corporate exposure is preferable)
  • Knowledge and experience in compliance issues under the Personal Data Protection Act, Companies Act, etc would be an added advantage.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and drafting skills and willingness to take on new assignments.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
  • High computer proficiency and good command in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin to effectively communicate with Chinese principals and stakeholders.
