The Senior Executive, Legal & Contracts supports the company’s legal and contractual functions by assisting in the drafting, review, and administration of contracts and providing legal input on day-to-day operations. The role involves ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and supporting project execution through effective coordination with internal teams. The position requires a sound understanding of contract law, attention to detail, and the ability to work under supervision in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Contract Review & Administration
Assist in drafting, reviewing, and maintaining contracts (e.g., EPCC, consultancy, supply, and service contracts).
Support in tracking contract timelines, obligations, milestones, and renewals through the contract management system.
Identify and highlight contractual risks or issues to the legal team and relevant departments.
Assist in managing contract amendments, extensions, claims, and close-out documentation.
Provide contract interpretation support to project and commercial teams under legal supervision.
2. Legal Support & Regulatory Assistance
Provide preliminary legal input on matters such as licensing, land issues, and project-related regulatory compliance.
Monitor compliance with relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., SEDA, ST, TNB) in coordination with project teams.
Assist in coordinating with external legal counsel and authorities on regulatory and legal matters as required.
Track validity of key project fundamentals (e.g., insurance, performance bonds, guarantees, warranties).
3. Dispute and Claims Documentation
Support the legal team in identifying potential legal risks in contracts and project execution.
Assist in the preparation of documentation for dispute resolution processes (e.g., claims, mediation, litigation).
Compile and organize supporting documents in coordination with project teams and legal counsel.
4. Cross-functional Coordination
Collaborate with respective departments i.e. Business Development, Procurement, Technical, Project, and Finance teams on legal inputs during bidding and project execution stages.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB); completion of CLP or equivalent certification is preferred.
Minimum 3–4 years of experience in legal practice, in-house legal, or contract administration.
Prior exposure to infrastructure, construction, or energy sectors is an added advantage.
Timely and accurate support in contract review and legal documentation.
Well-maintained contract records and document filing systems.
Responsive and clear communication with internal stakeholders and external parties.
Demonstrates initiative in identifying legal issues and escalating appropriately.
