Job summary

Hartalega Holdings Berhad is seeking an Executive / Engineer - Technology (Design) to drive technical responsibilities across equipment, process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation areas. The role coordinates internal and external engineering activities for assigned projects, leading design, implementation, commissioning and handover under the Project Manager.

You will define specifications, validate performance through reviews and testing, and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; exposure to operations or process improvement is a plus.
• Experience in manufacturing environments within process or design departments; fresh graduates may apply.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for drafting and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Define project specifications by analysing product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; prepare technical studies and cost estimates.
• Validate product and process performance through design reviews, testing, and verification activities.
• Control project execution by reviewing designs, schedules, and performance trends; propose corrective actions.
• Develop project proposals by collecting data, summarising findings, and presenting recommendations to stakeholders.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization across the site; drive CI activities and cross-functional integration.
• Plan and conduct capability-building activities by training employees on CI strategies and tools.

Job Description

Job Purpose

Drive technical responsibilities across equipment, process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation areas while coordinating all internal and external engineering activities for assigned projects.

Lead the design, implementation, commissioning, and handover of projects as delegated by the Project Manager.

Responsibilities

1. 1. Define project specifications by analysing product design, customer requirements, and performance standards, and prepare technical studies and cost estimates.
2. 2. Validate product and process performance through structured design reviews, testing, and technical verification activities.
3. 3. Control project execution by reviewing designs, specifications, schedules, and performance trends while recommending corrective and improvement actions.
4. 4. Develop project proposals by collecting and analysing data, summarising findings, and presenting improvement recommendations to stakeholders.
5. 5. Lead continuous improvement initiatives, redesign activities, and process optimisation efforts across the site.
6. 6. Drive and coordinate CI activities, including technical studies, cost analyses, and cross-functional integration of improvement methodologies.
7. 7. Plan and conduct capability-building activities by training employees on CI strategies, tools, and best practices.
8. 8. Lead problem-solving using structured methodologies such as root cause analysis and statistical techniques to reduce variation and eliminate waste.
9. 9. Perform operational and manufacturing process analysis to identify improvement opportunities and implement sustainable process changes with process owners.
10. 10. Serve as a process improvement expert for operational tasks, improvement projects, and additional assignments delegated by Superior or Management.

Qualification and Experience

1. 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field, with exposure to operations or process improvement considered an advantage.
2. 2. Experience in manufacturing environments within process or design departments; fresh graduates may also apply.
3. 3. Proficiency in AutoCAD for drafting and technical drawing tasks.
4. 4. Competence in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
5. 5. Ability to perform site work, including on-site measurements and related technical tasks.
