JOB SUMMARY

- Support the Data Quality Management Unit in executing data profiling, monitoring, reporting, and data inventory activities to help ensure organisational data is accurate, complete, consistent, valid, unique, and timely.
- Assist in gathering and documenting data quality requirements, critical data elements, business rules, metadata, and remediation updates from Data Owners, Data Stewards, Data Custodians, and other stakeholders.
- Support the preparation of data quality dashboards, reports, working papers, and awareness materials in accordance with established data governance frameworks, standards, procedures, and quality requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1.1 Data Quality Management
- Assist in maintaining and updating the data quality management framework based on best practices
- Coordinate engagements with Data Owners, Data Stewards and Data Consumers to identify critical data elements and define business rules for data quality management
- Gather and prepare data, business rules, and supporting information required for scheduled data profiling and quality assessments.
- Operate approved data quality tools, queries, templates, and checklists to profile critical data elements and record results under the guidance of senior team members.
- Check profiling outputs for completeness and apparent exceptions, maintain issue logs, and elevate discrepancies for review and follow-up.
1.2 Data Inventory, Metadata and Documentation
- Support the collection, collation, and maintenance of data inventory, critical data element, business glossary, data lineage, and metadata records.
- Maintain organised and up-to-date working documents, evidence, version records, action logs, and repositories in accordance with approved documentation practices.
1.3 Issue Remediation and Stakeholder Coordination
- Assist Data Owners and Data Stewards in documenting data quality issues, root causes, corrective actions, owners, target dates, and remediation progress.
- Conduct assessments on the current state of data quality and identify areas for improvement
- Coordinate meeting materials, follow-up actions, and status updates for data quality engagements, working groups, committees, and assigned initiatives.
1.4 Reporting, Governance and Continuous Improvement
- Prepare and update data quality scorecards, dashboards, presentation materials, and periodic reports for review by senior team members and relevant governance forums.
- Support user testing, operational monitoring, and issue reporting for data quality, data catalogue, metadata management, and related governance solutions.
- Provide administrative and operational support for data quality awareness, change management, training, process improvement, audit, and other Data Governance Office activities as assigned.
- Execute key activities related to operationalisation of data governance, operating model, data governance policies & procedures throughout the organisation
- Coordinate, manage, monitor and report Data Governance projects and initiatives to the relevant committees and forums
- Act as the secretariate for the Data Stewards Working Group (DSWG) and Data Governance Committee (DGC), ensuring timely coordination and communication of initiatives and progress.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Malaysian citizen.
- Pass the Malay Language including an oral test at the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or an equivalent qualification as recognized by the Government.
- Possess Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or another related qualification recognised by the Government.
- Not more than 2 years of relevant experience in data quality, data governance, data management, data analytics, data engineering, information management, or a related field are encouraged to apply.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Basic knowledge of data quality concepts, including accuracy, completeness, consistency, validity, uniqueness, and timeliness, is preferred.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Exposure to SQL, data visualisation, data profiling, data catalog, metadata management, or data quality tools through academic projects, internships, professional training, or work experience is an added advantage.
- Demonstrates competency in using AI tools and technologies to support productivity improvement in daily work.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, with the ability to work collaboratively with business and technical stakeholders.
- Able to follow established procedures, manage assigned tasks, meet deadlines, learn new tools, and elevate issues appropriately.
