WE ARE HIRING – CYBER SECURITY, NETWORK & SERVER ENGINEER

Location: Kuantan
Employment Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Monday – Friday (Flexible start between 7.00am – 9.00am)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Cyber Security, Network & Server Engineer to strengthen the organisation’s cyber-security posture. This role is primarily cyber-security focused, with secondary responsibilities covering network configuration and server management. You will work independently, reporting directly to the IT Manager, while collaborating closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure a secure, stable, and well-documented IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Cyber Security & Governance

  • Develop, document, and maintain security procedures, standards, and guidelines

  • Manage patching and vulnerability management programs in line with policies and schedules

  • Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and risk reviews

  • Support incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective actions

Network Monitoring & Configuration

  • Manage and operate network monitoring tools (e.g. Zabbix, Nagios, SolarWinds, PRTG)

  • Monitor network devices, servers, and selected applications/web URLs

  • Work with network vendors (e.g. Cisco Meraki switches and wireless APs) to analyse traffic and detect anomalies

Server Management

  • Support Windows Servers hosted on Microsoft Azure and selected on-prem environments

  • Assist with Veeam Backup System configuration and application system support

  • Provide limited support for Red Hat Linux servers

Documentation & Diagrams

  • Create and maintain accurate network and server diagrams

  • Ensure documentation is up to date for audit, compliance, and troubleshooting

Collaboration & Training

  • Promote cyber-security awareness and best practices across the organisation

  • Conduct training sessions on security tools, policies, and procedures

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Cyber Security, Network, and Windows Server environments

  • Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools and Windows Servers on Azure

  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, cyber-security architecture, and IT infrastructure

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and related digitisation tools

  • Professional certifications (e.g. CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CCNP) are an added advantage

Working Conditions

  • Business hours support (no 24/7 standby; rare after-hours support for critical incidents only)

  • Independent role reporting directly to the IT Manager

  • Replacement role

Salary & Benefits

  • Fixed Allowance: RM490

  • Annual Leave: 14 – 21 days

  • Bonuses: Contractual bonus (1.5 months) + Performance bonus
