Job Purpose

We are looking for a proactive and analytical Business Analyst to join our IT Department to support strategic projects focused on data analysis, business process improvement, and digital transformation. This role will play a key part in bridging business needs with technology solutions being implemented in the company. The Business Analyst will also shadow the IT Project Manager to build project management competencies and develop into a future project lead

Job Responsibilities

1) Business Analysis

• Gather, document, and analyze business requirements from stakeholders across various departments.
• Translate business needs into clear functional specifications for data, automation, and software development teams.
• Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in current business processes.
• Support the development of use cases and user stories for digital and automation initiatives.

2) Project Support

• Assist in planning, coordination, and execution of IT projects, including data warehouse, automation, and digitization efforts.
• Work closely with the IT Project Manager to track project milestones, risks, and deliverables.
• Participate in project meetings, prepare documentation, and support stakeholder communications.

3) Technology & Innovation

• Collaborate with solution architects and developers to validate that implementations meet business expectations.
• Conduct research and benchmarking on emerging technology trends relevant to the insurance industry.

4) Data & Reporting

• Work with data engineers and business users to define reporting and dashboard requirements.
• Assist in profiling data and data quality rules for enterprise data warehouse initiatives.

Qualifications

1) Academic

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or a related field.

2) Experience

• 2+ years of experience as in business analysis, preferably in insurance/reinsurance, financial services, or a regulated environment.
• Exposure to or strong interest in project management
• Understanding of business processes in insurance/reinsurance is advantageous.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills – able to engage with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Understanding of database concepts and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI).
