Key Responsibilities
- Perform the reconciliation of GL bank balance against the bank statement balance.
- Perform the reconciliation of receipts and payments of the Company’s operating bank accounts.
- Perform investigation on the unreconciled items to ensure the open items are reconciled and resolved in a timely manner.
- Propose the resolution of open items and perform matching in the Bank Reconciliation System.
- Prepare the proposed journal entries to resolve the open items.
- Prepare daily bank reconciliation report.
- Perform data loading into Bank Reconciliation System on a daily basis and ensure no integrity issues.
- Monitor tickets raised and liaise with both internal & external parties when there is any issue related to reconciliation and follow up closely to ensure issue resolved in a timely manner.
- Ensure the bank reconciliation is performed in accordance to the relevant standard operating procedures.
- Work closely with the relevant stakeholders on any issue arising from bank reconciliation.
- Provide support on all issues identified from audit by external auditors, GwIA & Regional SOX team for bank reconciliation related area.
- Subject Matter Expertise (SME) for Bank Reconciliation System.
- Regularly engage in Bank Reconciliation System enhancement initiatives.
- Assist with any ad hoc & administrative tasks upon request.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor or Degree in finance, accountancy, banking, investment, economics or equivalent.
- Internationally recognized accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, etc.) or working towards designation will be an added advantage.
- At least 3 years of working experience in the financial services industry such as insurance or banking.
- Working experience in the financial services industry such as insurance or banking will be an added advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications & financial accounting system.
- Knowledge in any bank reconciliation system will be an advantage.
- Strong analytical and resolution skills.
- Good command of Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Good interpersonal, communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Independent, organized and possess good work ethics with a positive attitude.
- Flexible and able to adapt in a dynamic environment.
- Attention to details, meticulous and diligent.
- Strict compliance with all applicable deadlines and able to work under pressure.
