Kota Kinabalu Marriott Hotel is seeking an experienced Event Coordinator to join our dynamic hospitality team. As an Event Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional event experiences for our guests. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

What you'll be doing

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their event requirements and develop customised event plans
  • Coordinate all logistical aspects of events, including venue setup, catering, audiovisual equipment, and guest management
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g., catering, housekeeping, engineering) to ensure seamless event execution
  • Monitor event budgets and ensure cost-effective solutions are provided to clients
  • Provide excellent customer service and manage client expectations throughout the event planning process
  • Analyse event data and provide recommendations for process improvements
  • Maintain a detailed event calendar and coordinate with the sales team on upcoming bookings

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar event coordination or hospitality role
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with clients and internal teams
  • Proficient in using event management software and MS Office suite
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in event planning and management
