Job summary

Wilmar Palm Products Sdn Bhd - For Location In Pulau Indah is seeking an ETP Operator to manage the Effluent Treatment Plant, monitor systems, and ensure water quality through tests and laboratory coordination. Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or technical diploma and 1–3 years of experience in wastewater treatment, with understanding of environmental regulations, shift work, and safety practices.

Training will be provided.

Qualifications

• High School qualification or Technical Diploma in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 1–3 years hands-on experience in wastewater or effluent treatment plant operations.
• Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment systems and environmental laws.

Responsibilities

• Operate and oversee all components of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP).
• Carry out regular checks on machinery, pipelines, and control systems to ensure smooth operation.
• Track water quality by conducting on-site tests and coordinating laboratory analyses.
• Immediately report any unusual conditions, equipment malfunctions, or process issues.
• Maintain full compliance with HSE requirements, environmental regulations and safe working practices at all times.

Job Requirements:

• At least a High School qualification or Technical Diploma in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of hands-on experience in wastewater or effluent treatment plant operations, ideally within oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments.
• Understanding of water and wastewater treatment systems, along with applicable environmental laws and guidelines.
• Experience working with pumps, valves, chemical dosing, and basic laboratory testing methods.
• Able to use basic computer applications for documentation and report preparation.
• Physically capable, alert to safety practices, and willing to work on a shift schedule.
