Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an ETL Lead to own the migration of legacy DataStage infrastructure to Azure Synapse and Azure Data Factory. The role defines target architecture, governance, and data reconciliation for the offshore ETL team.

Key responsibilities include migrating DataStage jobs to Azure pipelines, setting governance, and coordinating with senior engineers on Synapse/ADLS alignment. Requires 6–8 years in ETL/data integration with cloud migration experience.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years in ETL/data integration engineering with proven delivery of at least one large-scale DataStage-to-Azure (or equivalent legacy-to-cloud) migration.
• Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT architectures in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Define the target ETL/ELT architecture on Azure Synapse Pipelines and Azure Data Factory.
• Own the migration mapping from IBM DataStage jobs to modernized Azure pipelines.
• Establish ETL governance standards, coding conventions, and review gates for the offshore pod.
• Define and oversee the data reconciliation and data quality framework across migrated pipelines.
• Review PySpark/SQL pipeline logic built by the ETL Engineer(s).
• Coordinate with the Senior Data Engineer and Data Delivery Lead on Synapse/ADLS architecture alignment.
