Job summary

Datai Plantations Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an ambitious Estate Manager to take overall responsibility for day-to-day plantation operations and drive annual target plantings and harvests in our oil palm estates.

You will lead field staff, plan monthly and yearly work programs, oversee harvesting, manuring, pest control, and reporting to management, ensuring compliance with SOPs and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree in Agriculture/Aquaculture/Horticulture/Plantations or equivalent.
• At least 8 years of relevant working experience in a Management position in Oil Palm Plantation or cash crop industries on peat soil lands.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all field operation activities for oil palm and fertilization related projects.
• Plan and coordinate harvesting, manuring, weeding, road maintenance, pest control and replanting programs.
• Manage and guide field conductors, mandore, and workers to ensure work quality and SOP compliance.
• Develop and implement monthly and yearly work programs and monitor progress to meet estate targets.
• Prepare and submit operational, yield and cost reports to management and communicate effectively.
• Identify issues affecting yield or operations and implement corrective action for continuous improvement.

Job description

We are looking for an ambitious Estate Manager who will take overall responsibility for all day-to-day plantation operations and to identify problem areas and take corrective actions, ensuring annual target plantings / harvests are met.

You will be responsible for:

Reporting to the Managing Director / Chairman, the Estate Manager will be overseeing all field operation activities for oil palm and fertigation related horticultural projects.

Operational Management – Oversee and coordinate estate activities including harvesting, manuring, weeding, road maintenance, pest control, and replanting programs.

Workforce Supervision – Manage and guide field conductors, mandore, and workers to ensure work quality, efficiency, and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Planning & Execution – Develop and implement monthly and yearly work programs, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of key estate targets.

Reporting & Communication - Prepare and submit operational,yield, and cost reports to management, and communicate effectively.

Problem Solving & Improvement – Identify issues affecting yield or operations and implement corrective action plans to achieve continuous improvement.

To review and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly reports from Estate. To highlight any issues and to solve the issues.

What you'll need to have:

Candidates must possess a Degree in Agriculture/Aquaculture/ Horticulture/ Plantations or equivalent.

At least 8 years of relevant working experience in Management position in the Oil Palm Plantation / Cash Crop Industry and development on peat soil land.

Possess a high level of independence, integrity, self-motivation.

Result oriented with the drive to excel.

Good command in Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia (to liaise with Mandarin speaking associates).

Excellent health condition. Must be able to walk long distances within the estate.
