The Equipment Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting manufacturing equipment maintenance, repair, and optimization. This role involves hands-on work to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency, as well as assisting engineers with various technical tasks.

Specific Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  2. Calibration and Testing: Calibrate tools, instruments, and equipment according to manufacturer specifications or industry standards; perform routine calibration checks.
  3. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions, working closely with engineers to implement effective solutions.
  4. Installation: Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
  5. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment modifications, and generate calibration certificates and reports.
  6. Compliance: Ensure all equipment and processes comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (ISO, ANSI, NIST, or other standards).
  7. Support: Provide technical support to production teams, helping to resolve equipment-related issues promptly.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Participate in initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
  9. Procedural Compliance: Follow procedures aligned with certification of QMS, EMS, and OSH management systems/standards.

  • Reports to: Equipment Engineering Manager

Position Requirements

  • Education: Diploma in electronics or electromechanical engineering
  • Experience: 1-2 years in the electronics industry
  • Skills:
    • Strong technical and problem-solving abilities
    • Proficiency in diagnostic tools and equipment management software
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
