Job summary

ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors in Malaysia seeks an experienced Equipment Maintenance Specialist to uphold uptime, define maintenance procedures, and support process stability across our photonics manufacturing lines. You will coordinate with process engineers, set up SAP PM, and lead a small team to troubleshoot tool software/hardware while ensuring EHS compliance.

You will also drive KPIs, CpK, and yield improvements, transfer and start-up of new equipment, and collaborate on global projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of semiconductor fab support with MOCVD experience.
• Ability to lead a technical team and coordinate cross-functional projects.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Experience with metrology and hardware components on motors, aligners, robots, and controllers.

Responsibilities

• Own equipment performance uptime and define maintenance procedures.
• Set up SAP PM and maintenance work instructions for the area.
• Achieve equipment KPIs, process stability, CpK and yield.
• Troubleshoot tool software and hardware with in situ measurement systems.
• Transfer and start-up new equipment, qualification with process engineer as a team.
• Lead technicians in preventive maintenance and life-span studies.
• Collaborate on chronic failures and maintain equipment logs per quality procedures.

Job description

The ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors business offers high-performance opto semiconductor components and in-depth support for state-of-the-art system solutions based on innovative semiconductor light sources. The Business Unit can look back on almost fifty years of production and development expertise.

• Full responsibility of equipment performance uptime. Define maintenance procedures and perform equipment maintenance to keep up and sustain machine basic condition.
• To set-up SAP PM, maintenance work instructions TWI for responsible area. To achieve equipment key KPIs and supporting process engineering and operations teams to achieve process stability, output, process CpK and yield.
• Sustain equipment performance, daily monitoring all machine parameters and addressing Perform troubleshooting on tool's software and hardware part with application of in situ measurement systems
• Transfer and start-up of new equipment, set-up procudure,hook-up , buy-off and qualification of new equipment together with process engineer as team, ensure processes and equipment are compliance to EHS policy.
• Perform continuous improvement to identify equipment development potential, and support development activities, perform technical alignment in global technical discussion with Germany
• Potential to lead a group of technicians in trouble shooting and preventive maintenance of equipment,carry out PM activities and life span studies to establish PM standard and specification
• Team up with Process engineer on chronic equipment failure through appropriate trouble-shooting and continuous improvement methodology. Conform to quality system requirement as spelt out in FMEA, Control plan. Maintain effective records on equipment logbook on equipment failure, investigation

• Master / Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Specialize in Metrology, Mechanical , Mechatronics, Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related technical field preferred with at least 5 years of semiconductor fab support with metal organic chemical vapour deposition (MOCVD) experience.
• Experience and has ability to do cross functional and contribute in global initiated projects
• Basic leadership to facilitate meetings in local and global exchange meeting platform. Able to support in global exchange transfer project initiated to live abroad for certain period and adapt in different working culture.
• Experience and in-depth knowledge on electrical, mechanical hardware components on motor, aligner, robot and controller system, wafer robot vacuum handling and chiller system principles
• Well verse in English and Bahasa Malaysia
