Job summary

A leading technology solutions company in Penang is seeking a qualified EHS Officer to oversee Industrial Effluent Treatment operations. Responsibilities include monitoring compliance with environmental regulations and conducting site audits. Candidates should have a Diploma or Degree in Engineering or EHS-related fields and preferably hold an IETS Competent Person certificate. Fluency in English and Malay is advantageous, along with experience in conducting training and audits.

Qualifications

• Experience in Industrial Effluent Treatment System or Waste Water Treatment Plant is essential.
• An advantage to have Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health related work experience.
• Training experience with employees and vendors is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and log IETS operations regarding findings to EHS and Facilities Manager.
• Ensure no interruptions in DI and prevent pollution to the environment.
• Prepare weekly inventory reports for DOE via online systems.

Skills

IETS Competent Person certificate

Experience in IETS or WWTP

Fluent in English and Malay

ISO14001/RBA internal audit experience

Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Education

Diploma or Degree in Engineering or EHS related

Job description

1. Daily monitoring, logging and handle IETS operation – He will highlight all findings to EHS and Facilities Manager.(IETS – Industrial Effluent Treatment Plants) – According to DOE requirement.
2. Ensure no interruption on DI and no pollution Waste Water to environment/ monsoon drain. (DI – Deionizer water)
3. Regularly make weekly inventory report to DOE system via DOE on line. Requirement by DOE- Department of Environmental.
4. Follow up and update Plant chemical registration and PPE Matrix and registration (PPE – Personal Protective Equipments).
5. EHS Buy-off.
6. Registration & Log PTW on all Sanmina vendors and site safety monitoring (PTW – Permit To Work).
7. Assist EHS Officer on risk assessment and documentation requirements.
8. Regular site audit/Inspection and EHS findings report.

Priority given to IETS Competent Person (CP) certificate holder. (Experience in IETS is a must)

Diploma or Degree in Engineering or EHS relatedExperience in :

- IETS – Industrial Effluent Treatment System or Waste Water Treatment Plant. (WWTP)

- handling EHS - Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health related work- added advantage.

- conducting training to employees and vendors with fluent English and Malay – added advantage.

- conducting ISO14001 or RBA (EICC) internal audit – added advantage.

- Able to use micro-soft words, power point and excel – added advantage.

Added advantage if capable on doing report writing, emails and holds meeting in time of needs.
