Job summary

Hartalega NGC Sdn Bhd is hiring a Technician - Engineering for the Water Treatment Plant/Utility. The role covers maintenance, operation of boilers, chillers and air compressors, and ongoing improvements to plant systems.

You will perform preventive and breakdown maintenance, handle repairs, and ensure documentation adheres to ISO standards. Fresh graduates with the right attitude are welcome alongside 1–2 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required; CePIETSo certification is a plus.
• 1–2 years in manufacturing or similar industry preferred; fresh graduates with good attitude may be considered.
• Experience in welding, cutting, and grinding is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of boiler, chiller, air compressor and genset operation; familiarity with air conditioner/FCU operation.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, breakdown and preventive maintenance for utility department equipment.
• Operate and maintain boilers, chillers, and air compressor systems in optimized conditions.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance; report defects or repairs.
• Investigate utility-related problems and implement effective solutions.
• Respond to abnormal or emergency situations with immediate corrective action.
• Maintain documentation and records per ISO standards, including checklists and commissioning reports.
• Drive improvements in OEE by reducing downtime and preventing breakdowns.
• Liaise with other departments or plants for cross-functional collaboration.
• Maintain housekeeping and comply with HSE policies and procedures.
• Manage and safeguard tools, equipment and properties; upgrade skills through training.
