Job summary

Dexcom is seeking a skilled technician to support excimer laser equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment in Penang, Malaysia. The role involves laser alignment, energy verification, calibration, gases handling, leak testing, optics cleaning, and preventive/corrective maintenance.

You will analyze results, document findings, and contribute to validations and equipment improvements. Candidates should have 4–6 years of related experience and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret technical documents related to equipment specifications.
• Ability to write routine reports and maintain documentation.
• Experience with high-volume, high-reliability manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Deal with excimer laser processes including alignment, energy verification, calibration, gases, leak testing and optics cleaning.
• Troubleshoot machines and perform preventive and corrective maintenance in a timely manner.
• Use schematics and instructions to conduct testing, checkout and task resolution.
• Analyze and document test results in written reports.
• Assist in development projects with assembly, testing, and validations under supervision.
• Follow Dexcom safety and LOTO procedures and update equipment documentation as needed.
• Operate hand/power tools and measurement equipment to support manufacturing processes.

Where You Come In

• You will be dealing with Excimer laser process which includes but not limited to laser alignment, laser energy verification & calibration, hazardous gases, leak test, optics cleaning, HV (high voltage) parts maintenance, chemicals and pneumatics.
• You are accountable for machine troubleshooting and preventive/corrective maintenance in timely matters.
• You will utilize schematics, diagrams, written and verbal instructions, layouts, or defined plans to conduct testing, checkout, and solving tasks
• You analyse and document test results, preparing written reports
• You perform equipment-related activities in development projects under the supervision of the project engineer, including the assembly and testing of equipment, fixtures, processes, and electronics, as well as completing engineering studies and validations
• You adhere to Dexcom’s Safety and Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) program
• You assume and perform additional duties as assigned
• You finish the tasks in compliance with safety requirements
• You update equipment-related documentation (manuals, drawings, and specifications) as needed
• You are proficient in using hand and power tools, multimeters, amp meters, manufacturing test equipment, and calipers

• You can read, analyse, and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications
• You can write routine reports, pass downs, and correspondence
• You effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, engineers, and managers
• You possess knowledge of high reliability, high volume manufacturing equipment and processes
• You have technical writing skills applied to manufacturing documentation and process development, with experience in crafting and revising technical documentation
