Job summary

The School of Engineering is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Academic to provide academic, strategic and operational leadership for the School.

You will lead the development and continuous improvement of engineering programmes, ensure academic quality and compliance with MQA and BEM/EAC requirements, drive research, industry collaboration and professional engagement, and lead and develop academic staff.

Qualifications

• PhD in Engineering or a related discipline from a recognised university.
• Significant academic and senior leadership experience, preferably as Deputy/Associate Dean, Head of School/Department or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of engineering education, academic governance and quality assurance.
• Experience with MQA and BEM/EAC accreditation is highly desirable.
• Strong research and publication record, with industry engagement experience.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Strategic, commercially aware and able to lead change and growth.
• Professional Engineer (Ir.) registration with BEM or equivalent professional registration will be an advantage.
