Description:

Cleantech Solar is a solar developer that finances, constructs, owns and operates solar projects. We are headquartered in Singapore and operate across Pan Asia, focusing on long-term investments within the commercial and industrial customer segments. We are focused on installing high quality photovoltaic projects for Fortune 100 and Tier 1 companies. The team members have between them developed, financed and installed over USD 1bn of projects and have experience with some of the worlds leading solar developers, panel manufacturers, construction companies, research institutions and IPPs.

Cleantech Solar is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to add to our rapidly expanding team of technical professionals. The Engineering Manager reports to Vice President Engineering and will lead and manage the engineering team based out of Malaysia.

Responsibilities :

  • Be responsible for technical designs, both structural and electrical, at various stages from conceptual design to detailed engineering designs and ensure compliance to standards and codes.
  • Coordinate with various internal and external teams, engineers, consultants and authorities to assess the project viability and resolve technical issues for solar photovoltaic (PV) projects.
  • Establish processes, standards, tools, and templates for the engineering team to deliver industry leading designs and optimized solar photovoltaic projects.
  • Review, comment and approve documents or drawings submitted by contractors before construction.
  • Possess the ability to create and review Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for Request for Proposals (RFP).
  • Conduct site visits to project sites from opportunity to project implementation and resolve PV system challenges.
  • Hold design review meetings with internal and external stakeholders as needed to maintain proper quality assurance and quality controls on projects.
  • Assists development team, construction team and operations team with engineering-related questions.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, manage competing priorities and overcomes obstacles to successfully meet project milestones.
  • Possess good understanding on design aspects related to medium voltage design requirements on 11/33/kV networks
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in technical discipline
  • 10+ years of project engineering or design experience
  • (Those with less experience may apply for the role of System Engineer)
  • Working knowledge of construction and electrical principles
  • Solar photovoltaic system design experience is a plus
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office Suite
  • Experience with MS Project, Sketchup and PVsyst is a plus
  • Highly organized and proactive
  • Eager to learn and develop a deeper understanding of PV design and construction
  • Able to work independently and adapt to rapidly changing priorities
  • Able to work in tandem with a global team of internal and external stakeholders
