We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in delivering high-quality solar energy projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, engineering design, project execution, and team leadership. This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, within budget, and in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the engineering team in the design, planning, and execution of solar PV projects, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage project engineering activities, including feasibility studies, site assessments, system design, and technical documentation.
- Ensure project cost competitiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, construction, and project management, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Develop and implement engineering best practices, quality control procedures, and risk management strategies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and ensure continuous professional development within the team.
- Review and approve technical drawings, schematics, and specifications for solar power systems.
- Coordinate with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and consultants to ensure project approvals and compliance with Malaysian laws and industry standards.
- Conduct performance analysis and optimization of solar PV systems to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in renewable energy engineering.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or related engineering field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the solar energy industry, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role within an EPCC environment.
- Equipped with value engineering skillset.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV system design, energy yield analysis, and electrical system integration.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, and ETAP.
- Familiarity with Malaysian energy regulations, grid interconnection standards, and SEDA/MEDA guidelines.
- Proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams with excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Strong project management abilities with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with stakeholders, clients, and regulatory bodies.
- Professional Engineer (Ir.) certification or other relevant industry certifications is a plus.
