Job Description:
As the Engineering Manager,you will be responsible for leading and managing the engineering department to support the company's manufacturing operations, automation projects, and new product introductions (NPI). You will oversee a team of engineers and technicians across multiple disciplines to drive innovation, improve process efficiency, and ensure project success. The role requires strategic thinking, technical expertise, and strong leadership to ensure operational excellence and alignment with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the engineering team across process, equipment, and automation functions.
- Oversee planning and execution of New Product Introduction (NPI), including tooling, fixture, and line setup.
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to ensure smooth product transfers and engineering support.
- Develop and implement engineering strategies to improve productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for production issues.
- Ensure timely support for equipment troubleshooting, process optimization, and change management.
- Evaluate and introduce new automation technologies to support smart manufacturing goals.
- Plan and manage engineering budgets, project timelines, and resource allocation.
- Maintain compliance with ISO, safety, and customer standards.
- Train, mentor, and develop the engineering team to enhance technical capabilities and leadership skills.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering field.
- Minimum 7-10 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or automation-driven environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in managing NPI, equipment installation, and process engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of automation systems, production workflows, and manufacturing best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Proficient in engineering tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and project management software.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Mandarin proficiency is an advantage (for coordination with China-based teams or suppliers).
Salary Range: RM8k - RM15k
