An established industry player is seeking a dynamic engineering leader to drive productivity and quality in automated plating processes. This role involves planning and organizing engineering activities, mentoring a skilled team, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. 1. Plan, organize, and manage engineering activities to achieve optimal productivity, cost-efficiency, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
2. Lead and mentor the engineering team, enhancing their skills and knowledge to effectively support the company’s quality policies, goals, and growth.
3. Initiate, develop, and implement continuous improvement programs such as Quality Control Circles (QCC), cost reduction initiatives, and enhancements in process yield and efficiency.
4. Develop staff competencies through comprehensive training, effective communication, and motivation strategies.
5. Lead and organize troubleshooting efforts for major challenges, implementing process improvements as needed.
6. Assist during Quality Systems (QS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS) audits by certification bodies and internal audits.
7. Execute other duties as assigned by superiors.
8. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) plating setup, including reporting and updating documentation such as FMEA and control plans.
9. Lead machine modification initiatives to enhance productivity, process efficiency, and quality.
1. A degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering is required.
2. Demonstrated ability to lead and troubleshoot major issues, implementing process changes and improvements.
3. Proven experience leading a team of engineers to develop new processes based on customer requirements.
4. Strong knowledge of roughening processes and other leading technologies or their equivalents.
5. 8–12 years of experience managing automated reel-to-reel and strip-to-strip plating lines, specifically for precious metal processes and pre-plated lead frames.
6. Proficiency in using statistical methods to analyze data.
7. Basic knowledge of FMEA and control plans is essential.
8. Experience in handling turnkey projects is required.
9. Familiarity with CAD software and an understanding of basic lead frame design rules.
10. Experience with NPI activities and meeting customer requirements is an added advantage.
