Job summary

Lam Research Malaysia is seeking a motivated Engineering Intern to support engineering projects, process improvements, and technical initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will gain hands-on experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting, contribute to quality and productivity improvements, and collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and other engineering teams. Availability for a minimum 6 months and pursuing a relevant engineering degree are required.

Qualifications

• Availability for a minimum 6 months internship.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Industrial, Chemical, Materials, Computer or related engineering field.
• Strong academic performance and interest in engineering principles and applications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Responsibilities

• Support engineering projects and day-to-day technical activities under guidance of experienced engineers.
• Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting to support engineering and operational decisions.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, productivity, and cost reduction.
• Assist in developing, documenting, and maintaining engineering procedures and technical documentation.
• Conduct research, testing, and evaluations to support product, process, or equipment improvements.
• Analyze engineering data and prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations.
• Support troubleshooting activities and root cause analysis for technical issues.
• Participate in project meetings and provide updates on assigned tasks and deliverables.

Who we’re looking for

• Availability for a minimum 6 months internship is required.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong academic performance and demonstrated interest in engineering principles and applications.
• Basic understanding of engineering concepts, problem-solving methodologies, and analytical techniques.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong time management and multitasking capabilities.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
