Job Overview

We are seeking an Engineering Executive – Facility with 3-5 years of experience to oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in AHU (Air Handling Units), Ammonia & Freon refrigeration systems, air compressors, and firefighting maintenance. This role involves ensuring the efficient functioning of refrigeration and cooling systems, minimizing downtime, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Refrigeration System Operations & Maintenance

• Oversee refrigeration systems' installation, operation, and maintenance, including Ammonia-based and Freon systems.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal performance and system reliability.
• Diagnosed and troubleshot refrigeration system issues to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards for handling refrigerants.

2. AHU (Air Handling Unit) Management

• Monitor and maintain AHUs to ensure proper air circulation, cooling, and humidity control.
• Perform routine cleaning of filters, coil maintenance, and air balancing.
• Troubleshoot airflow issues, temperature inconsistencies, and mechanical faults.

3. Air Compressor System Maintenance

• Oversee the operation and servicing of air compressors to ensure stable and reliable performance.
• Monitor pressure levels, filter conditions, and air quality for efficiency.
• Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting to prevent breakdowns.

4. Fire Fighting System Maintenance

• Ensure the functionality and compliance of fire protection systems, including fire extinguishers, sprinklers, alarms, and hydrants.
• Conduct routine inspections, testing, and servicing of fire safety equipment.
• Assist in fire drills and emergency preparedness.

5. Safety, Compliance & Regulatory Requirements

• Ensure all refrigeration, air compressor, and fire safety systems comply with Malaysian safety, environmental, and industry regulations.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
• Maintain proper documentation, reports, and permits related to refrigeration system safety and compliance.

6. Energy Efficiency & Process Optimization

• Monitor refrigeration system performance and recommend energy-saving initiatives.
• Implement system upgrades or modifications to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
• Assist in budget planning and cost control for maintenance and equipment investments.

7. Team Coordination & Reporting

• Supervise and train technicians and maintenance staff on refrigeration, AHU, and fire safety systems.
• Work closely with production, facility management, and engineering teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Prepare and maintain reports on maintenance activities, system performance, and compliance audits.

Qualification & Experience

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, HVAC Technology, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in refrigeration system operations and maintenance.
• Experience in AHU, ammonia & freon refrigeration, air compressors, and fire fighting system maintenance is an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of industrial refrigeration systems, including ammonia and Freon-based cooling.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and refrigeration cycle diagrams.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and SAP.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
