A day in the life of...

  1. Ensure that the Production QMS and HACCP SOPs are flawlessly executed, troubleshoot and resolve line quality deviations, maintenance, and equipment issues.
  2. Effectively take prompt and corrective action in all areas of engineering to minimize the impact of failures.
  3. Manage all routine maintenance by setting priorities to ensure the implementation of the AMM schedule (PM 03) and optimize equipment uptime by product.
  4. Control the production line routine M&R budget, troubleshoot, and resolve line engineering deviations, including routine breakdowns.
  5. Follow prescribed guidelines, help control material, labor, GFOH, and M&R usage variances.
  6. Coach, train, and motivate MDT1 teams to achieve targets related to quality, supply, speed, cost, and people management.
  7. Maintain good work discipline with fitters and operators, formally appraising fitter performance annually, developing staff, and conducting training based on identified needs.
  8. Implement SHE SOPs and participate in identifying and resolving potential safety and environmental hazards.
  9. Represent all MDT1 teams at the MDT2 level, propose ideas for continuous improvement, and participate in C.I. projects under the guidance of the Production Manager.

What Will Make You Successful

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical field, preferably in food manufacturing or the consumer goods industry.
  • Degree or diploma in engineering, preferably in mechanical engineering.
  • Recognized engineering diploma or apprenticeship certificate with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience handling machinery such as Wolf, Robema, and Ishida is an advantage.
