Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Malaysia seeks engineering professionals to support manufacturing and engineering functions across Assembly, Test, and process improvement.

You will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues and maintain product quality and efficiency. The role emphasizes using data, AI-enabled tools, and standard procedures to analyze deviations, implement improvements, and mentor teammates in EDT EHSS practices.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering or Applied Science.
• Strong knowledge of digital and analog circuit fundamentals.
• Experience with lab testing and interpretation of electrical data.
• Understanding of semiconductor assembly and test.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Participate in process changes.
• Use department specific scripts and commands as needed.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Support Manufacturing

• Investigate manufacturing issues related to Assembly and Test processes and identify and implement solutions
• Disposition SPC fails, RMAs, and other product using tools provided
• REBIN parts when necessary
• Identify and handle product deviations
• Research deviations to determine cause and ensure containment
• Isolate product that has been shipped and contain affected product as needed
• Provide supporting data highlighting an issue
• Contact groups responsible to resolve issues
• Participate in process changes
• Use procedures and guidelines for EDT process and tasks
• Use department specific scripts and commands as needed
• Use department specific software programs as needed

Support Engineering

• Assist engineers in developing processes to resolve process variance, equipment, or device performance problems and provide for product quality control and efficiency of equipment and processes
• Start quals for engineering and monitor progress when requested
• Identify problems with quals and communicate that to the qual owner
• Document Process Engineering or Test Engineering projects

Communicate Information

• Communicate with suppliers, peers, and customers to accurately relay technical information
• Stay up-to-date on e-mail and respond with concerns
• Review and approve EDM Inbox items
• Use proper grammar, appropriate terminology, and technical terms for the target audience
• Work toward positive outcomes
• Work and communicate with customers to understand their expectations
• Communicate problems and concerns to engineering
• Follow the proper escalation procedure to communicate problems
• Seek and respond to feedback from others
• Set goals, and define task priorities
• Assist in Process documentation review and development

Mentoring

• Actively share information with others to raise level of awareness and knowledge in the department, site, or larger industry groups
• Develop process or product application courses that can be across areas, departments, and sites, as appropriate
• Mentor others using documented guidelines when applicable
• Create mentor relationships to provide motivation, coaching, and skills training
• Assist with training of other EDT EHSS (Environmental, Health, Safety, Security)
• Observe all established EHSS policies, requirements and procedures, including Micron Covid19 SOPs
• Follow EHSS guidelines included in work instructions
• Report conditions or behaviors that are contrary to EHSS policies or procedures
• Cooperate with all audits

Familiarity with manufacturing systems, data analysis, programming, or Artificial Intelligence applications is a plus.

Experience using Generative AI, AI Assistant, or other AI-Enabled tools is preferred.

Requirements

• Diploma in Engineering or Applied Science
• Good technical knowledge of digital and analog circuit fundamentals as well as an understanding of the underlying semiconductor device physics and behavior.
• Lab bench testing using evaluation boards, lab tester and electrical test data interpretation.
• Understanding of semiconductor assembly and test
• Knowledge of common computer software packages, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc…
