Join Perodua's Engineering team and play a vital role in supporting spare parts development and engineering change management activities for new vehicle projects. You will work closely with engineering teams, suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure spare parts are developed, validated and implemented effectively to support product quality, vehicle launches and aftersales requirements.
This role offers valuable exposure to new product development, supplier management, engineering change processes and automotive engineering operations within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
To coordinate and monitor the development of new spare parts in collaboration with engineering, production and suppliers to ensure timely readiness and compliance with product requirements.
To lead and coordinate spare parts development activities for new vehicle projects from initial planning through mass production.
To act as the key liaison between project teams, suppliers and internal departments to ensure smooth execution of spare parts development activities.
To coordinate and implement Engineering Change Instructions (ECI) in a timely and controlled manner.
To review and update Bills of Materials (BOM), technical drawings and related documentation in accordance with approved engineering changes.
To liaise with local and overseas suppliers on spare parts development, quality requirements and delivery timelines.
To evaluate and qualify new suppliers while supporting supplier performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
To manage technical documentation, approvals and system updates related to spare parts development and engineering changes.
To maintain accurate records and prepare reports, presentations and progress updates for management review.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related disciplines.
Strong interest in automotive product development, spare parts engineering and engineering change management.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM).
Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of CAD software, ERP or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems will be an added advantage.
Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work within project timelines.
