Overview

The new SEAM organization integrates Safety, Environment & Asset Management activities, with a broad geographical footprint, that will support Shell’s business & assets around the world. The vision of SEAM is to provide capability across the spectrum of Safety, Environment and Asset Management with: shaping the future ways of working through introducing to the business new technology and new ways of working, including digital, SBO, and real-time, data-driven, end-to-end optimization and risk management, but also global programs like Human Performance Based Safety Philosophy; providing performance feedback driving disciplined execution to deliver reliable, predictable results; helping businesses build their improvement plans and provide support to execute them; sustaining performance through strong core capabilities (internal, including SBO & contingent) through building expertise and a company-wide consistent approach.

  • The VP TAO will be accountable for maximizing integrated business value across the organization. Technical Asset Operations (TAO) is a key enabler for the accelerated delivery of Shell’s Asset Management System and will help us to reach our ultimate potential in Downstream Manufacturing, Integrated Gas and Upstream. TAO provides high quality and cost-competitive technical resources who are not physically present at site yet are an integral part of asset teams delivering value through end-to-end AMS work processes.
What you’ll be doing

This role plays a key part in supporting the Asset’s PTM journey by contributing specialized knowledge in remote monitoring across Wells and Production Systems.

  • Carry out surveillance of Wells using tools like EBS tools (e.g., EBS, PI, PTM Toolkit) for Proactive Technical Monitoring.
  • Responsible for frontline wells and production systems monitoring via rule-based algorithm tools or manual monitoring and accountable for downhole failure identification.
  • Define, implement and improve standard work for the Proactive Technical Monitoring Process.
  • Support team with engineering recommendations and troubleshooting of identified anomalies.
  • Share and promote lessons learned opportunities that enhance monitoring for value.
  • Manage stakeholders’ expectations with respect to the deliverables and KPIs in PTM.
  • Network with counterparts and other levels of organization across different operating units, data centers and developing external networks outside of TAO and Shell.
What you bring
  • University Degree in Petroleum/Chemical Engineering/Production Engineering.
  • Overall working experience of 6 to 8 years in drilling/production operation/in Oil & Gas; Upstream operations experience in Oil & Gas/unconventional fields is mandatory.
  • Experience in remote monitoring of Wells/subsea/sub-surface facilities is preferable.
  • Experience in Asset performance management tools is preferable.
  • Knowledge of rotating machines and process performance and health monitoring.
  • Strong aptitude for Learner Mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to challenge and ability to build internal and external relationships based on trust and to integrate across multiple functions.
  • A self-starter leader and reliable deliverer, with very good verbal and written skills in English, able to negotiate with people, and able to resist undue influence that might otherwise compromise integrity of data quality.
  • Exposes the individual to all cultural backgrounds and organizational levels, across diverse time zones.
  • Sound understanding of business/process workflow and having mature mindset to deal with tough/challenging situations.
