It has three manufacturing plants in Penang producing Car Multimedia, Power Tools, and Automotive Steering systems. Job Description

Job Summary

  • Ensure new product quality requirements are met.
  • Ensure products manufactured meet all product and process quality standards.
  • Handle customer complaints and improve product warranties.
  • Develop, review, and monitor quality control procedures, implementing improvements as needed.
  • Ensure closure of internal and external audit findings, including product safety audits.
  • Supervise QMM technicians to maintain efficiency in quality management.
  • Lead process improvement projects and report outcomes to management.
  • Resolve quality problems using problem-solving processes like PSS/8D.
  • Create and maintain inspection plans for in-process and outgoing products.
  • Approve component first article inspections (ISIR) and incoming inspection plans, including cost reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor and report KPIs timely, and develop action plans.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by superiors.
  • Manage start-up projects, warranties, customer complaints, first article approvals, and reliability testing.
  • Conduct product qualification tests to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in FEP, QG, FMEA, CP, and production line releases.
  • Prepare test and inspection plans and train technicians accordingly.
  • Coordinate with service centers to understand market product quality levels.
  • Investigate failures and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Manage part releases and incoming inspection plans, ensuring ISIR requirements are fulfilled.
  • Align measurement methodologies between PgP2 and suppliers.
  • Ensure fixtures and tests are ready for pilot phases.
  • Lead Q-VSM processes during pilot stages.

Operation Support / Value Stream Quality

  • Oversee product and process quality in the value stream.
  • Support quality management during process changes, rework, concessions, and customer complaints.
  • Manage quality aspects of plant-to-plant activities, new lines, and equipment.
  • Support supplier quality issues and cost-saving activities.
  • Review failure analyses and drive improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with ANDI and conduct periodic audits.
  • Lead failure investigations and cross-functional quality improvement teams.
  • Manage plant-to-plant quality complaints and product transfers.
  • Conduct monthly quality meetings and warranty analyses.
Qualifications

Knowledge and Exposure

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in manufacturing, engineering, quality, or project management.
  • Proficient in technical report writing with data analysis and action recommendations.
  • Experience in plastic molding, metal stamping, turn parts, PCBA, die-casting, or hardening parts; knowledge of software coding is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, TS16949, EN standards, and safety standards like UL, CSA.
  • Knowledge of statistical QC tools and measurement methods, including FMEA, MSA, SPC.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and operate measurement equipment such as CMM, vision scopes, and hardness testers.
  • Hands-on experience with failure analysis and problem-solving methodologies like 5 Why’s, RCA, fault tree analysis.

  • Deep understanding of problem-solving techniques and risk assessments.
  • Effective communication skills across all organizational levels, suppliers, and customers.
  • Proficiency in DOE, SPC, MSA, Process Capability, and 8D methodologies.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently.
