Job Summary

Role

1.1 Responsible for mechanical component development.

1.2 Owner of the mechanical component design within the framework of BES-PE.

1.3 Contribute to innovation in platform and technology development.

Job Scope

2.1 Collaborate with system engineers to provide mechanical solutions and improvements for new and existing products.

  • Align with system engineers on the SRS, especially for mechanical components/subsystems.
  • Derive mechanical design concepts from requirements, evaluate alternative solutions, and document design decisions.
  • Optimize mechanical design considering manufacturing and assembly processes.

2.2 Evaluate, verify, and improve design risks and failures related to the mechanical domain through FMEA, risk assessments, PSS, DFMA, etc.

  • Be familiar with product safety and legal requirements, especially those related to mechanical components, and document assessments accordingly.
  • Drive the design iteration process for mechanical components, including design, prototyping, and verification.

2.3 Create and maintain drawings (2D & 3D) using CAD systems, prepare part lists (BOM), and technical documents (PQA, tolerance stack, etc.).

  • Define PQA, especially for special characteristics according to functional requirements and tolerance calculations.
  • Ensure correct setup of 2D/3D and BOM data in related systems, and manage the release of mechanical components in SAP.

2.4 Prepare functional cost analyses for products, identify gaps, and propose improvements.

2.5 Protect intellectual property by timely filing invention reports and conducting patent checks.

2.6 Mentor junior engineering team members.

2.7 Support gearbox platform development aligned with business strategy.

2.8 Support additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with new product development processes and tools.
  • Design experience for consumer goods or household appliances, with related automotive or industrial applications.
  • Mechanical engineering expertise, capable of designing major mechanical parts such as plastic housings or gears.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes for plastic and metal components.
  • Basic knowledge of PCBA and motor manufacturing processes is a plus.
  • Experience in patent searches and filings.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into design solutions systematically.
  • Understanding of cause-effect relationships in technical details.
  • Excellent skills in relevant technical fields.
  • Successful completion of BES-PE training.
  • Experience with GIS, ANDI systems.
  • Proficiency in Creo CAD software.
  • Knowledge of other mechanical calculation tools like Kiss-soft.
  • Basic SAP user skills.
