Job summary

Ultra Clean Technology in Penang, Malaysia is seeking an Engineer III, IT Infrastructure (Network) to design, deploy, and maintain enterprise network systems for performance, reliability, security, and scalability. This role requires collaboration with global teams and occasional late meetings across multiple time zones.

The position requires strong Cisco routing and switching, SD-WAN, and scripting (Python/Ansible); a Bachelor's or equivalent and CCNA or higher.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in network routing and switching.
• Experience with Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, and NX-OS.
• Wireless networking fundamentals.
• Experience with SD-WAN appliances and NGFWs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with scripting (Python, Ansible).

Responsibilities

• Perform and document network configuration changes across switches, routers, and wireless controllers
• Deploy, manage, and support enterprise LAN, VoIP, WLAN, and SD-WAN environments
• Oversee the ongoing development and operation of network systems to ensure reliability, availability, and performance
• Test and validate network functionality, performance, and resiliency
• Implement configuration enhancements, software updates, and firmware upgrades on network equipment
• Independently identify, troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve complex network issues
• Collaborate with global infrastructure teams and participate in critical meetings scheduled across multiple time zones
• Use network monitoring tools to analyze traffic, availability, capacity, and performance
• Create and maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and technical procedures

UCT is looking for a talented Engineer III, IT Infrastructure (Network) to join us in Penang, Malaysia!

Job Summary

The IT Infrastructure Engineer will design, deploy, and maintain enterprise network systems to ensure performance, reliability, security, and scalability. This role will lead configuration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of LAN, WLAN, VoIP, and SD-WAN technologies. As a key technical escalation point, the engineer will need to collaborate with global teams and effectively use monitoring and management tools to proactively address issues and maintain accurate documentation to support business objectives and operational excellence. This role requires flexibility to attend occasional evening or late-night meetings aligned with European and North American business hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform and document network configuration changes across switches, routers, and wireless controllers
• Deploy, manage, and support enterprise LAN, VoIP, WLAN, and SD-WAN environments
• Oversee the ongoing development and operation of network systems to ensure reliability, availability, and performance
• Test and validate network functionality, performance, and resiliency
• Implement configuration enhancements, software updates, and firmware upgrades on network equipment

• Create and maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and technical procedures

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong knowledge and foundation of network routing and switching
• Strong experience with Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, and NX-OS
• Wireless networking fundamentals
• Experience and understanding of SD-WAN appliances and NGFW’s
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with scripting (Python, Ansible).

Educational/Certification Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/certifications.
• Technical certifications: Cisco CCNA or higher.

Work Experience

• Minimum 8-year experience working in Information Technology roles
• Minimum 5-year experience building, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting wireless LAN
• Minimum 3-year experience with advanced administration of Cisco routers and switches
