POSITION SUMMARY:
The Industrial Engineer analyzes current processes and procedures. They implement improvements to maximize productivity, reduce waste, and ensure high-quality results.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze current productivity data.
- Determine the best options for process improvement tactics.
- Train employees in new practices.
- Analyze output with new practices.
- Manage and lead continuous improvement projects.
- Promote efficiency and safety in the workplace.
- Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental policies, 5S policies, and general duty of care.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information related to production processes, business, technology, and materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in team management and support activities, providing guidance to Industrial Technicians.
- Contribute to layout optimization by analyzing and proposing improvements.
- Support capacity planning and analysis.
- Participate in time-study analysis and process improvement initiatives.
- Assist in Capital Expenditure (CapEx) projects with technical support.
- Support OEE calculations and analysis for equipment performance improvements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and implement strategies.
- Assist in man-machine calculations to optimize workstations.
- Support 5S implementation activities.
- Assist in takt time analysis and calculations.
- Contribute to managing and analyzing KPIs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Operate in a fast-paced engineering/manufacturing lab environment.
- Work in a standard office environment using general office equipment.
- Overtime may be required during periods of increased demand.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong analytical skills for data evaluation and interpretation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Leadership skills for implementing productivity changes.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities; familiar with Cause & Effect Diagram, 5 Why, & Pareto Principle.
- Understanding of Lean methodologies such as Flow, Poka Yoke, & Heijunka.
- Troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 7 years related experience.
- Familiarity with ISO quality systems.
- Knowledge of plant operation systems.
- Proficiency in 6Sigma, SPC, FMEA, and lean manufacturing.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
