The Process Engineer will oversee, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes. Leading special projects to improve production efficiency and quality. The position is hands-on, requiring proficiency in both automated and manual equipment, and aims to enhance the competency of operations and engineering staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for first pass yield improvement plan.
- Follow up on daily production issues, lead the team in increasing yield, improving product quality, and reducing manufacturing costs.
- Follow up on customer quality feedback, prepare corrective actions, and monitor their implementation.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of processes, procedures, and specifications.
- Develop best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production yield and product quality.
- Perform process simulations and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with IE to establish LBC (Line Balancing Chart) and Operator BF (Balancing Factor).
- Perform production line capacity planning.
- Lead CIP (Continuous Improvement Project) team to enhance process efficiency and quality.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, technicians, and staff.
- Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies, 5S, and general duty of care.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information related to production processes, components, business, and technology, including materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Works in a fast-paced engineering/manufacturing lab environment.
- Also works in a standard office environment using general office equipment.
- Overtime may be necessary during periods of increased demand.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to demonstrate independent judgment, responsibility, and professionalism.
- Ability to handle moderately complex engineering assignments.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
- Good judgment in problem resolution.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Knowledge in Wire Bond Processes (Wedge wire bonding).
- Proficiency in 6 Sigma, SPC, FMEA, Lean manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Design Of Experiments (DOE) is an advantage.
- Strong statistical data analysis, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with initiative and independence.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years in manufacturing process engineering.
- Familiar with ISO quality systems and plant operation systems.
- Knowledge in 6 Sigma, SPC, FMEA, lean manufacturing.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
