Job Description

OVERVIEW

  • Ensure high reliability and effectiveness of plant control system instrumentation, including troubleshooting, modifications, repairs, and ensuring the efficient operation of the Engineering - Control & Instrumentation team.
  • Enforce company rules, regulations, and implement ISO 9001/GMP requirements.
  • Standardise procedures and lead breakdown maintenance, preventive maintenance, and improvement projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and coordinate all control system and instrumentation activities in the plant.
  • Assign daily tasks to engineering personnel and oversee their work.
  • Plan and assist in plant maintenance to ensure proper functioning of equipment and prompt repair of breakdowns.
  • Plan and execute instrumentation calibration to meet required accuracy and frequency.
  • Participate in control system continuous improvement plans and machinery automation.
  • Oversee installation and testing of new control systems and instrumentation.
  • Prepare reports on engineering matters, including repairs, personnel needs, spare parts, and supplies.
  • Monitor spare parts inventory to ensure availability.
  • Review control system and instrumentation documentation for accuracy and relevance.
  • Collaborate with internal and external regulatory inspectors to address maintenance issues cited for inspection.
  • Regularly update operational knowledge of control systems and instrumentation.
  • Update quality system procedures and work instructions for the department.
  • Support and train subordinates for effective performance.
  • Conduct performance appraisals for team members.
  • Undertake projects or tasks assigned by superiors.
  • Innovate and improve processes, especially for frequent breakdowns and non-user-friendly equipment.
  • Maintain and update daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
  • Implement standardisation across all jobs.
  • Prepare and review annual and quarterly budgets.
  • Ensure activities comply with health and safety standards.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by superiors.

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation, Mechatronic Engineering, or equivalent.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Control and Instrumentation field, or fresh graduates with a good attitude and initiative are welcome to apply.

Technical and Professional Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of sensor installation and wiring.
  • Programming skills for PLC (Ladder Diagram) — Siemens, Fatek.
