Job Description
OVERVIEW
- Ensure high reliability and effectiveness of plant control system instrumentation, including troubleshooting, modifications, repairs, and ensuring the efficient operation of the Engineering - Control & Instrumentation team.
- Enforce company rules, regulations, and implement ISO 9001/GMP requirements.
- Standardise procedures and lead breakdown maintenance, preventive maintenance, and improvement projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and coordinate all control system and instrumentation activities in the plant.
- Assign daily tasks to engineering personnel and oversee their work.
- Plan and assist in plant maintenance to ensure proper functioning of equipment and prompt repair of breakdowns.
- Plan and execute instrumentation calibration to meet required accuracy and frequency.
- Participate in control system continuous improvement plans and machinery automation.
- Oversee installation and testing of new control systems and instrumentation.
- Prepare reports on engineering matters, including repairs, personnel needs, spare parts, and supplies.
- Monitor spare parts inventory to ensure availability.
- Review control system and instrumentation documentation for accuracy and relevance.
- Collaborate with internal and external regulatory inspectors to address maintenance issues cited for inspection.
- Regularly update operational knowledge of control systems and instrumentation.
- Update quality system procedures and work instructions for the department.
- Support and train subordinates for effective performance.
- Conduct performance appraisals for team members.
- Undertake projects or tasks assigned by superiors.
- Innovate and improve processes, especially for frequent breakdowns and non-user-friendly equipment.
- Maintain and update daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
- Implement standardisation across all jobs.
- Prepare and review annual and quarterly budgets.
- Ensure activities comply with health and safety standards.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by superiors.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation, Mechatronic Engineering, or equivalent.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Control and Instrumentation field, or fresh graduates with a good attitude and initiative are welcome to apply.
Technical and Professional Knowledge:
- Knowledge of sensor installation and wiring.
- Programming skills for PLC (Ladder Diagram) — Siemens, Fatek.
