Job summary

Quintus Search is seeking an Embedded Engineer to support firmware development for product development. The role focuses on building low-power firmware applications for embedded devices and creating drivers to communicate with RF modules and peripherals.

The ideal candidate will design bootloaders for remote firmware updates, develop APIs/SDKs for hardware-software integration, and create production/test firmware for jigs and certification processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in low-power microcontroller firmware development (AMR Cortex-L0/L4, STM32, ESP8266/ESP32).
• Bootloader development for remote firmware updates.
• Experience with RF communication protocols and interfaces (USB, BLE, WiFi, NFC, SPI, I2C).
• Experience with debugging, tracing and using IDEs/tools to diagnose firmware bugs.

Our client is a public listed manufacturing and engineering services company.

As theEmbedded Engineer, the main objective of the role is tosupport firmware development for product development.

• Develops low-power firmware application
• Develops firmware drivers to communicate with RF modules and peripherals
• Develops firmware algorithm for water meters
• Develops bootloader for firmware updates
• Develops APIs and SDKs to interface between hardware and software
• Develops production firmware test applications for test jigs
• Develops product certification firmware test applications

Requirement

• Experience in low-power microcontroller firmware development especially AMR CortexL0 / L4, STM32 & ESP8266 / ESP32.
• Experience in developing bootloader for remote firmware update in various
  communication interfaces.
• Knowledge in debugging using break point and using proper IDE and software tools totrace bugs.
• Knowledge in using serial terminals for testing, logic simulation and code debugging.
• Experience in firmware development of firmware drivers using USB, Bluetooth, WiFi,
  NFC, SPI, I2C, low-power timers, PWM, sleep mode etc.
• Knowledge on RF communication protocol such as ALOHA, CDMA and other anti-collision algorithm.
• Experience in sub GHz RF and LPWA network (NB-IoT, LoRa and Sigfox)
  communication protocols is an added advantage.
