Job description

Purpose of the position

The incumbent is responsible leading electrical maintenance team to perform electrical maintenance & reliability related job functions in safe, cost-effective manners.

Principal Responsibility

• To lead and perform electrical maintenance function job in time and cost-effective manner.
• Determine and perform schedules, functional checks, and assignments for work activities including periodic maintenance as per SAP PM requirement, based on work priority, quantity and skill of personnel.
• Supervises and coordinates electrical maintenance and repair work by contractors at plant site.
• Investigates and troubleshoots complex problems in electrical equipment, control system and instruments.
• To assist engineer in Plant Turnaround Management. Oversee on all electrical maintenance activity at site. Direct involved in supervising critical electrical machinery maintenance.
• To assist engineer in analysing information for effective repair of equipment by study of operating and repair manuals. Acquires failure data and prepares maintenance plans for restoring equipment to operating condition in a minimum amount of time.
• As appropriate, contacts and coordinates external service specialists, contractors and vendor.
• To support operations and maintenance teams on isolation of electrical equipment and instruments during plant turnarounds and corrective plant work.
• To lead and manage electrical maintenance work.
• To work out the method statement of electrical maintenance work especially on critical and major maintenance work.
• Patrol and monitor work areas and examine tools and equipment used by operations team.
• To be the authorized person to inspect on the quality and specification of electrical maintenance works performed by chargeman and contractor.
• Relief duties of electrical superintendent, chargeman when necessary, determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity and skill of personnel.
• To support reliability related job function
• Assist electrical engineer in performing failure root cause analysis as to troubleshoot and avoiding repeating event again.
• To be trained up with expertise skill and recognized competency in specific condition-based maintenance skills, support all PGS plants and liaise with external contractor and specialists on any issues.
• To improve maintenance personnel skills at high level of safety, competency, quality and reliability
• To execute on job training for chargeman on multiple maintenance skills and knowledge.
• Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair and maintenance techniques; operational procedures and equipment use.
• To outsource for advanced and new maintenance skills and introduce to electrical team.

Required Qualifications / experience
