Job summary

An established industry player in oil and gas exploration is seeking an Electrical & Instrument Engineer to provide critical support for production and instrumentation engineering. This role involves optimizing production strategies, conducting safety studies, and ensuring compliance with documentation standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a focus on instrumentation, and at least 6 years of experience in the oil and gas sector. Electrical & Instrument Engineer

Job Description:

Our client is a leading Oil and Gas exploration and production in Malaysia and the countries.

Type of hiring: Contract 1 year

Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Onshore and Offshore teams in providing production and instrumentation engineering support by advising on production strategies and conducting optimization studies.
  • Participation in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, F&G mapping, and Safety Case studies.
  • All aspects of flow measurement requirements from a production standpoint, including performance evaluation, must be performed on a regular basis to minimize costs while optimizing production.
  • Assists offshore and onshore staff in the adjustment of flow measurement and instrumentation.
  • On-site inspections and testing of equipment to guarantee compatibility with safe and efficient offshore and onshore operations.
  • Liaise with other units or departments in order to collect information related to production.
  • Assists in the formulation and implementation of the Management of Change, which is harmonized across the Business Units, if possible.
  • Assists facility and supports employees in the preparation and implementation of short- and medium-term facility plans.
  • In charge of planning technical tasks and facility upkeep for oil and gas production that involve instrumentation and metering.
  • Ensuring that appropriate documentation is always in place, is kept up to date, and promotes creativity in the creation and application of novel measurement techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Control, and Instrumentation Engineering.
  • At least 6 years of working experience in oil & gas background.
  • Capacities for both independent work, working in teams and working in an energetic supporting environment.
  • Self-motivated and fast learner.
  • Registered with Board of Engineer Malaysia
