Responsibilities (What you will be doing)
- Reporting Structure: The individual reports to the Section Head and Deputy Department Head
- Electrical Troubleshooting: Attend to machine breakdowns, troubleshoot electrical issues, and ensure the safe and functional operation of components
- Team Leadership: Lead technicians in machine repair, modification, and maintenance tasks
- Training: Provide training to technicians on repair procedures, electrical knowledge and machine modifications
- Machine Study: Conduct studies for machine modifications, implement permanent solutions for breakdowns, and handle parts procurement
- Compliance: Follow all systems and maintenance regulations
- Liason: Communicate with superiors regarding machine changes or unresolved technical problems
- Documentation: Prepare breakdown reports, update maintenance records, and manage document control related to machine manuals, drawings and revisions
- Safe Wiring: Possess extensive knowledge of safe wiring techniques
- Process Improvement: Engage in time studies, line balancing, and process improvements to reduce manufacturing overhead
- Process Documentation: Establish process documentation and work instructions to support changes and improvements
- ISO Compliance and Lean Activities: Ensure compliance with ISO requirements and participate in Lean/Kaizen activities
- Collaboration: Work with other departments to improve product quality and contribute to cost containment projects
- Guidance and Leadership: Provide guidance to maintenance members, demonstrating the ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Additional Duties: Perform any other duties as directed by the immediate supervisor or assigned by management
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance for manufacturing equipment, with 3+ years in a leadership role
- Licenses and Certifications: PW4 license with the ability to provide endorsement is advantageous
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
- Skills:
- Communication: Able to communicate efficiently at all levels; good command of written and oral English
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive, supervise, and motivate a team as a Team Leader
- Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to solve problems in both electrical tasks and interpersonal situations with team members
- Proactivity: Proactive, independent, and willing-to-learn attitude
- Familiar with troubleshooting PLC systems, motor controls, and machine wiring; good knowledge of electrical safety standards and Suruhanjaya Tenaga regulations
- Work Ethic: Self-motivated and hardworking, with a willingness to work longer hours when necessary
- Training: Participate in communication skills, supervisory skills, motivational training, and other relevant programs to continuously improve abilities and performance
