Electrical Engineer

Overview:
To lead the Electrical & Instrumentation Team in performing duties related to maintenance activities and provide technical support to achieve the company's operational KPIs.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe and smooth operation of the entire Electrical Installation and monitor High Voltage facility equipment performance.
- Responsible for energy management and electricity saving strategies.
- Monitor and analyze causes of machine downtime and ensure scheduled maintenance is completed on time.
- Maintain and improve system documentation, policies, work instructions, and scope of work in line with continuous improvement standards beyond ISO 9000, GMP, and Food Safety.
- Manage and communicate regularly with the maintenance team to ensure effective communication regarding maintenance issues, including training and development.
- Liaise with utility providers and regulatory bodies such as TNB, Suruhanjaya Tenaga, and DOSH to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Ensure successful startup and operation of plant commissioning from a maintenance perspective.
- Implement electricity energy reduction practices to achieve and optimize high energy efficiency and cost savings.
- Ensure cost-effective maintenance and repairs of electrical/instrumentation equipment and machinery.
- Prepare reports, analyze E&I data, develop solutions, and lead implementation.
- Verify and calibrate secondary standard equipment and process instruments timely.
- Plan, liaise, issue, maintain documentation, monitor performance, and ensure completion of SAP-PM tasks and projects on schedule and within budget.
- Manage and supervise contractors involved in E&I system installation, improvement, repair, and servicing.
- Identify risks and hazards during operations and adhere to safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
- Establish and maintain standard procedures and control documents related to E&I processes.
- Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance are carried out as planned to optimize equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Participate in and recommend improvements to maintenance and production operations from an E&I perspective.
- Adhere to company and safety rules.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Experience in process instrumentation, verification, and calibration.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in a similar or process industry.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
- Experience in interviewing, hiring, training maintenance staff, and performance management.
- Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Knowledge of Electricity Supply Act, regulations, and IEEE wiring standards.
- Good knowledge of DCS/SCADA/HMI systems, system integration, and equipment monitoring systems.
