Job description

Position Summary

Responsible for technical support on Electrical & Automation Systems Corrective/Preventive Maintenance schedule/tasks in production and packaging areas. Provides expert technical support on software in projects and project improvements. Is a source of expertise to electrical maintenance personnel.

Focus on production lines and related equipment as working platform, specialized in PLC, HMI, Servo Motor Controllers, Vision System and Robotics programming software. Provides on the job training to electricians and engineers related to process troubleshooting, tuning and programming of devices used in the machinery control systems and assist engineers in the creation of Working Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures to train new hires.

Acts in compliance with the Company Objectives and Targets established by IMS and contributes to the effectiveness rules dictated by the ISO certifications adopted by Vinda Malaysia and drawing opportunities for improvement.

Liaises with technology providers, equipment suppliers of technology used by Vinda Malaysia to ensure there is comprehensive transfer of related know how and that it is captured and stored in work instructions, procedures, drawings and that all appropriate trainings need for the electrical engineers/technicians, operators and maintainers are identified and delivered.

You will play an essential role to:

Technical support and assistance

• Actively enforces safe working practices as per company safety policies and ensures works are done as per legal requirements.
• Point of expertise in developing the Maintenance Journey in working area. Vision of Zero stops & Zero Breakdowns philosophy minimizes unplanned stops using the right maintenance strategies.
• Communicates with Technical, Manufacturing and R&D departments to determine problems and recommend solutions.
• Develops creative solutions and alternatives for specific electronics/electrical and control problems in manufacturing.
• Monitors and provide technical support for site personnel and outside contractors when necessary.
• Assists in machine check-out, RFS tests, installations, start-up, and commissioning activities.
• To work closely with manufacturing and technical team to ensure the results of the executed project after commissioning and hand over.
• Mentors for the manufacturing staffs on the area of electronics, he provide trainings over control systems programming, networks and process

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

Qualifications & Experience Requirement

• Degree/Diploma Electronics / Control & Automation.
• At least 5 years working in areas that requires the use of the technical knowledge preferably in similar industry (converting) in a similar position.
• Knowledge and working experience in Servo Motors, Inverters, Soft-Starters, Controllers, PLC, industrial networks (CC-Link, Profinet, Profibus, Control Net, Ethernet, ModBus), robotics, preferably by Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley), Siemens & Mitsubishi.
• Knowledge with MES or SCADA systems, interfaces and connectivity hardware and software.
• Knowledgeable in the scope of technologies and equipment used in the soft disposable hygiene products industry.
• In-depth knowledge process of hygiene converting machine / paper converting machine.
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Power Point and Word) and Microsoft Project).
• In-depth knowledge of Control System: PLC, Servo Motors Controllers, Inverters for Ac motors, HMI, PLS, Vision Systems, robotics and others software and system designed for Industrial use.
• Knowledge in manufacturing and maintenance management.
• Knowledge in Visual Basic in an added advantage
• Working experience on this segment of Industry and Machinery.
