Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an EHS Officer to ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health regulations across project sites in Penang. The role focuses on implementing EHS management systems, conducting site inspections, and reviewing PTW and risk assessments to maintain safe operations.

The candidate should hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s in OSH or related fields, be DOSH SHO-registered or eligible, and possess 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction or project environments.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Malaysian OSH legislation and safety standards.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems is an advantage.
• Registered DOSH Safety and Health Officer – Green Book holder is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with OSH regulations, environmental laws and company policies.
• Implement and maintain EHS management systems at project sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards.
• Review risk assessments, JHA, method statements and PTW documents.
• Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare EHS reports for management and authorities (e.g., DOSH).
• Organize safety trainings, toolbox talks and inductions.
• Monitor contractor compliance with EHS requirements.
• Ensure emergency procedures are in place and rehearsed.
• Promote safety awareness and support audits including ISO standards.
