About the role

As the Country Manager at Tat Hong Plant Hire, you will be responsible for overseeing and directing the overall operations and strategic direction of the company's business in Malaysia. This full-time, on-site role requires close collaboration with the CEO and ASEAN leadership team to align Malaysia’s performance with regional objectives.

What you'll be doing

1. Strategic & Operational Leadership
2. Define and implement strategies to achieve growth, market penetration, and profitability targets.
3. Set clear goals and priorities, ensuring alignment with broader ASEAN and corporate strategies.
4. Lead the business with a hands-on approach, continuously improving operational processes and driving performance across departments.

Business Operations & Fleet Management

1. Oversee day-to-day operations across functions, ensuring optimal deployment of cranes.
2. Identify opportunities for service improvement and asset utilization to enhance operational efficiency.
3. Champion safety, quality, and service delivery standards across all business areas.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

1. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, vendors, and government authorities.
2. Represent the company with professionalism and integrity, upholding our reputation as a trusted industry leader.
3. Drive customer satisfaction and service consistency by maintaining strong operational delivery standards.

Take full ownership of the country's P&L, including planning, budgeting, and cost control. Provide accurate financial insights and performance updates to regional and corporate leadership. Proactively manage business risks and identify growth opportunities to maximize returns. Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team across operations, commercial, and support functions. Cultivate a performance-driven culture built on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience (8+ years) in a general management or country leadership role, within the Crane Leasing or Heavy Machinery Industry
• Proven track record of driving business growth and profitability in a competitive market
• Strong understanding of the Malaysian business landscape and regulatory environment
• Excellent leadership, people management, and communication skills
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia
