The Facility Technician in Insulet Malaysia will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, energy efficiency, and improvement of facilities equipment, building maintenance, and related areas. They will be trained and cross-trained to repair, maintain, and improve the reliability of various systems, manage outsource service teams and contractors, ensure daily activities support business objectives, comply with cGMP requirements, and oversee performance and development. The Facility Technician must maintain the facility system regularly, prioritize staff and patient safety as users of our product, focus on quality, be self-directed, motivated, a team player, and eager to learn and share knowledge. The role operates on a Monday to Sunday schedule, supporting a 24/7 plant operation, requiring flexibility across all shifts. Candidates must be quality-conscious, self-motivated, proactive, and continuously seek knowledge.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with safety rules, quality policies, and employee guidelines.
- Manage all facility equipment, controls, and systems, establishing standards to maintain reliability.
- Utilize Lean principles to foster continuous improvement in safety, quality, efficiency, and cost.
- Coordinate with facility customers and inter-department personnel, fulfilling job requests promptly (within 30 min to 1 hour based on criticality).
- Assist vendors and follow up closely.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, plumbing, civil, and other systems.
- Possess good knowledge of electrical, mechanical, civil, ELV works (e.g., CDA, Dryer, Vacuum systems).
- Manage chiller and cooling tower operations, HVAC systems, LEV systems, and prepare daily incident reports.
- Perform technical troubleshooting and solutions for operational, electrical, mechanical, safety, or efficiency issues.
- Assist in root-cause investigations, deploy corrective and preventive actions.
- Support audits and statutory license renewals (DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, etc.).
- Carry out and plan preventive maintenance and emergency repairs for HVAC, biosafety, cold rooms, rainwater harvesting, and related systems.
- Handle pharmaceutical documentation (deviation reports, SOPs, calibration plans, etc.).
Preferred. - Monitor and control systems like BAS, BMS, EMS.
- Assist with safety permits, JHAs, and collaborate with EHSS team.
- Participate in drills (fire, emergency response).
- Analyze trends and implement corrective actions (energy, water, system performance).
- Contribute to quality plans ensuring minimal disruptions.
- Maintain building infrastructure including drainage, water supply, and cleanroom environment.
- Manage calibration activities for measuring and monitoring equipment.
- Assist with monthly facility reports and document maintenance activities thoroughly.
- Interface with manufacturing and corporate teams to plan and resolve complex issues.
- Perform cleanroom qualification activities in line with ISO standards and ASHRAE guidelines.
- Knowledge of solar energy systems and energy efficiency programs.
- Assist contractors, vendors, and outsource providers.
- Maintain inventory of critical spare parts and consumables.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by superiors.
Education and Experience:
- Higher Diploma or Diploma in electrical & electronics, mechanical, mechatronics, or related fields.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in facilities systems, preferably in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or cleanroom industries.
- Experience in high-volume production environments.
- AO/A4 Chargeman certificate is an advantage.
- Process-oriented with data-driven decision-making skills.
- Ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Strong PC troubleshooting skills.
- Extensive knowledge of facility systems, electronics, and PCBA production.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Electrical and software aptitude, technical reading skills.
- Knowledge of HVAC, ELV, Cleanroom, and BMS systems.
- Experience in regulated industries and cleanroom environments is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail, adaptability, and curiosity.
- Multilingual skills (English, Malay) preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Able to work all shifts, including weekends, and stand/walk for extended periods as required.
