A leading company in Malaysia is seeking a skilled accountant to manage financial statements, ensure compliance with regulations, and provide strategic financial insights. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, as well as monthly and quarterly reports and assist in the preparation of annual budgets
Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, tax regulations, and industry standards
Manage the full set of accounts including AP, AR, GL and treasury functions for entities within the Group
Coordinate and support audit processes, liaise with external auditors and manage tax filing processes to ensure full compliance
Provide financial analysis and strategic insights to support Senior Management in decision-making processes
Assist in long term financial planning, including capital structure, risk management strategies, and investment decisions
Conduct in-depth financial analyses to identify trends, risks and opportunities
Implement and monitor robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting
Review and enhance financial and operational procedures to improve efficiency and mitigate financial risks
Stay up to date with changes in taxation laws, industry regulations and accounting standards to ensure continued compliance
Collaborate closely with the senior leadership team to deliver strategic financial recommendations
Undertake additional ad-hoc tasks or assignments as required by Senior Management
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
Preferably with an auditing background and proficiency in Chinese to liaise effectively with Chinese speaking stakeholders
Solid knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and financial reporting standards
Proven experience managing a full set of accounts
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
Self motivated, proactive and detail oriented with strong time management
Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
