What is the opportunity?

Our client is a specialist provider of asset services, custody, payments, and treasury services. Founded in 1864, they are the 10th largest bank worldwide and the 5th in North America, as measured by market capitalization. Their processing centre supports 10 countries across three time zones, employing a Global Operating Model to maximize efficiencies and support a 24/5 operational capability. The objectives for Malaysia include enhancing scalability, improving service quality via centres of excellence, and implementing standardized global processes.

The Global Markets (GM) Business Management team supports the wider GM business, working under the direction of the head of Global Markets and their leadership committee. They collaborate with business and functional partners to execute strategic objectives and ensure a robust controls framework to meet operational and regulatory requirements.

The GM Business Manager is responsible for driving operational efficiency and effectiveness. The team maintains strong partnerships with functional areas supporting GM, including Product Control, Finance, BCS, Technology, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Human Resources, among others. This role supports the GM Business Management team, reporting to various GM Business Management leads.

What will you do?

  • Review financial reports, identify key trends, and report to stakeholders.
  • Manage expenses, including direct and indirect costs.
  • Prepare meetings and presentations, including:

- Business strategy development.

- Financial planning and analysis.

- Client Value (CV) reporting and analysis.

- Monthly financial reports.

- Other ad hoc reports, e.g., 3rd party benchmarking.

  • Manage systems access requests, inventory, and requirements related to technology.
  • Support ad hoc project work.
  • Partner with BM colleagues on strategic projects and GM-wide initiatives.
  • Assist with daily requests from GM Sales & Trading.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Undergraduate degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Backgrounds in finance, consultancy, or business management are helpful.
  • Professional qualification such as CA is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of GM businesses within Capital Markets, including products, organizational structure, and operational processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and team-oriented personality.
