Section Manager Responsibilities

The Section Manager is responsible for ensuring operational excellence in the store, supporting the Store Manager to achieve sales targets and maintain positive P&L, and ensuring Brand compliance. They create a work environment that promotes Brand values, teamwork, and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
Sales
  • Lead by example in customer service, ensuring standards reflect a strong brand image.
  • Analyze sales figures to identify opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Drive sales performance using relevant retail metrics.
  • Collaborate with departments to support local sales opportunities.
  • Understand competition and identify store-level opportunities.
  • Focus on customer understanding to maximize conversion, basket size, and sales.
  • Plan store coverage based on sales trends.
Commercial & Visual Merchandising
  • Maintain store standards and execute impactful events.
  • Ensure product presentation aligns with brand guidelines.
  • Use Visual Merchandising to highlight merchandise and attract customers.
  • Benchmark standards and create an aspirational shopping environment.
Stock Management
  • Follow SOPs for stock-related processes and communicate with relevant departments.
  • Ensure proper replenishment of best sellers.
  • Review top and bottom selling lines regularly.
  • Identify risks in stock management and initiate corrective actions.
Customer Service
  • Model excellent service standards and respond effectively to customer complaints.
  • Ensure replenishment standards are met.
  • Gather and utilize customer feedback for improvement.
  • Drive daily service standards through walk-and-talk coaching.
Standards & Compliance
  • Ensure legal and safety compliance, including regular audits.
  • Manage store safety, maintenance, and cleanliness standards.
Duty Management & Loss Prevention
  • Train and support section managers in duty management roles.
  • Adhere to cash and security procedures; monitor for theft and security risks.
People Management
  • Implement HR policies related to absence, disciplinary issues, and performance management.
  • Engage with employees to foster good communication and involvement.
  • Participate in employee training and performance reviews.
Cost Control & Profitability
  • Optimize FTE and productivity ratios.
  • Manage shrinkage and stock systems effectively.
  • Develop cost improvement plans.
Candidate Profile
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant fashion retail management experience.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Target-driven with a passion for fashion brands.
  • Commercially savvy with excellent communication skills.
  • Willing to work retail hours, including public holidays.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet use.
