Competently manage and complete projects on time, with proper quality, and most importantly within budget.
Responsibilities:
- ➢ Competently lead multidiscipline engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure project delivery including staff development, project management, and technical responsibility.
- ➢ Undertake complete project planning including schedule development, resource planning, engineering work, procurement planning, quality control, construction, and commissioning.
- ➢ Understand management expectations and implement project management strategy to ensure project is completed safely, meeting design requirements and process guarantees, quality expectations, within budget and schedule.
- ➢ Accountable for project controls: project cost estimating, planning/scheduling, project benchmarking, effective cost control/forecasting, project progress control/earned value reporting, change management, cash flow management, and financial status of the project.
- ➢ Responsible for managing project interfaces with all parties involved including internal and external communication, document management, and transfer of relevant project data according to a communication and document control plan.
- ➢ On-site management of multiple trade contractors including safety, logistics, schedule coordination, and quality of work.
- ➢ Identify and manage project risks.
- ➢ Perform other extra work assignments from the department when needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering or equivalent related field.
- Minimum 8 years of working experience in project execution, with at least 3 years of direct project management experience, knowledgeable in design and construction matters in environmental technology, chemical, or energy industries.
- Demonstrated ability in managing small to medium design and construction projects each ranging RM3 million.
- Competent to read technical documents/drawings and manage their applications.
- Good understanding of contracting principles and the contracting process.
- Well versed in MS Projects and resource planning/management.
- Competent in vendor engagement and technical evaluation.
- Good client management and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate, mentor, and develop staff and team members.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Special Requirements:
- Willing to travel domestically and/or internationally.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous.
