Job description

Competently manage and complete projects on time, with proper quality, and most importantly within budget.

Responsibilities:

1. ➢ Competently lead multidiscipline engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure project delivery including staff development, project management, and technical responsibility.
2. ➢ Undertake complete project planning including schedule development, resource planning, engineering work, procurement planning, quality control, construction, and commissioning.
3. ➢ Understand management expectations and implement project management strategy to ensure project is completed safely, meeting design requirements and process guarantees, quality expectations, within budget and schedule.
4. ➢ Accountable for project controls: project cost estimating, planning/scheduling, project benchmarking, effective cost control/forecasting, project progress control/earned value reporting, change management, cash flow management, and financial status of the project.
5. ➢ Responsible for managing project interfaces with all parties involved including internal and external communication, document management, and transfer of relevant project data according to a communication and document control plan.
6. ➢ On-site management of multiple trade contractors including safety, logistics, schedule coordination, and quality of work.
7. ➢ Identify and manage project risks.
8. ➢ Perform other extra work assignments from the department when needed.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering or equivalent related field.
2. Minimum 8 years of working experience in project execution, with at least 3 years of direct project management experience, knowledgeable in design and construction matters in environmental technology, chemical, or energy industries.
3. Demonstrated ability in managing small to medium design and construction projects each ranging RM3 million.
4. Competent to read technical documents/drawings and manage their applications.
5. Good understanding of contracting principles and the contracting process.
6. Well versed in MS Projects and resource planning/management.
7. Competent in vendor engagement and technical evaluation.
8. Good client management and communication skills.
9. Ability to motivate, mentor, and develop staff and team members.
10. Fluent written and spoken English.

Special Requirements:

1. Willing to travel domestically and/or internationally.
2. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous.
