About the role

DJR Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team in Kuching, Sarawak. As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in leading and overseeing the execution of complex engineering projects from start to finish. This full-time position is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects and the continued growth of our business.

What you'll be doing

Developing and implementing comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation

Coordinating and managing cross-functional teams to ensure seamless collaboration, timely project completion and to improve mechanical processes, systems and equipment.

Monitoring project progress, identifying and mitigating risks, and making adjustments as needed to keep projects on track

Liaising with clients and relevant authorities to address concerns and ensure project requirements are met

Providing technical expertise and guidance to project teams, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and best practices

Preparing detailed technical reports, documentation and presentations to communicate project status, challenges, and outcomes for internal teams and clients.

Continuously seeking opportunities for process improvement and innovation to enhance project delivery

Oversee and manage maintenance services and projects to ensure the operational efficiency of mechanical systems and equipment.

Utilize CAD design tools to create precise drawings and models for piping systems and equipment.

Support the procurement and selection of mechanical parts, materials, and tools for projects.

What we're looking for

Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical) or a related field

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar role within the engineering industry

Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex engineering projects

Excellent project management skills, including the ability to develop and execute project plans, manage budgets, and coordinate cross-functional teams

Strong understanding of maintenance services in mechanical settings

Strong technical expertise and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide innovative solutions

Excellent communication and client management skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and team members

Proficiency in project management software, such as Microsoft Project

Proficiency in CAD design software (e.g., AutoCAD, or similar tools)

Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements

Knowledge of industry safety standards and regulations

Must be Local Resident or Hold Valid Work Permit to work in East Malaysia

Willingness to travel to project sites as needed, with a valid driver's license
